Herbert RatschCertified real estate broker

Herbie began his journey as an integral part of the management team at Starters Sports Canada. He worked closely with the NFL, MLB, NHL and CFL. He then began to create his vast network of business contacts. For the past 20 years, Herbie has been immersed in the luxury real estate world. He began as Vice President of the Reservation Centre, Director of Resort Real Estate Sales and Director of Tourist Rentals at Mont-Tremblant Intrawest. He was one of the first brokers to join the Quebec division of Sotheby’s International Real Estate brokerage service and led the launch of the Sotheby’s office in Mont-Tremblant.

As a Sotheby’s International Realty Québec Certified real estate broker, Herbie has contributed to a series of record sales in Canada, including an estate of over 65,000 acres in the wild and the historic Château Montebello. In 2020, he joined forces with two long-standing partners to found the real estate development consulting firm REL Realty Advisors.

Herbie represents the most demanding investors and homeowners in the Laurentians and Montreal, but his network of clients extends across Canada. His motto is “work hard and live life to the fullest.”

Herbie spends his weeks in Montreal and weekends with his family in Mont-Tremblant. He enjoys skiing, golfing, water skiing, canoeing and kayaking and every year he drives his car at the Porsche Club of North America event at Circuit Mont-Tremblant.

Elliot DumasResidential Real Estate Broker

Elliot is distinguished by the entrepreneurial approach he applies to his role. With project management experience in fashion, tourism, and real estate, he now specializes in Herbie’s unconventional assets across the province, land, and homes in the Laurentians. Noteworthy for his involvement in numerous record-breaking sales both in the city and in the country, Elliot has been a key collaborator alongside Herbie.

Elliot has an impressive academic journey; he has studied Globalization at Oxford University, holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from John Molson School of Business, and is currently in the process of obtaining his RBQ License.

Elliot grew up in Lac-Beauport where he learned to ski at the age of 3 and eventually became a ski instructor. He now lives in Saint-Sauveur, where you can find him by the ski hill in the winter and by the lake enjoying water sports in the summer. Want to win him over? Throughout multiple market cycles, Karine has foreseen game-changing opportunities and positioned her clients’ investments to pre-emptively gain a competitive advantage. Karine has also negotiated and closed commercial deals in the hospitality sector, from hotels and restaurants to resort property investments, and helped clients find homes worldwide through Sotheby’s Global Network.

Karine has developed a reputation for her professional and intelligent approach to luxury and high-stake brokerage, without the frills. She is trusted for her business decorum, marketing transparency and consistent track record in sales.

Karine was born and raised in Montreal where she still resides part of the time. She spends the other part of her time at her cottage in Mont-Tremblant, Québec. She speaks four languages and, having spent a significant amount of time in Whistler, the Exumas Islands, Banff, El Gouna in Egypt, and now Mont-Tremblant, she is well-versed in resort investment properties.

Known for her charisma and athletic zeal, Karine shoots hoops on the court, runs outdoors and sails. In the winter, you can find her on the slopes in the Laurentians or zipping down the French Alps. Karine holds a Bachelor of Business and International Affairs from McGill University.

He was born and raised in Montreal and has loved real estate since his youth, contributing to his strong understanding of the Montreal market.

His background in the service industry enahnced his naturally outgoing personality, and his compassionate nature helps him easily connect with the people around him. He hopes to grow in the real estate investment sector, and his personability helps him make the connections he needs to be successful in that market.

Being passionate about jazz music and racing, Richard likes to explore different extremes. Whether it’s on the racetrack or in the office, he is always ready to face the next hurdle.

Corinne DumasMarketing Coordinator

Corinne holds a bachelor’s degree in management and marketing from Bishop’s University. Her journey began in the field of accounting at BDO Canada, then she switched in sales for Pepsico, followed by invaluable experience in sales and marketing within her family’s business in the vision industry. She then recently joined the Herbie Team, and she currently handles marketing and advertising for Herbie’s special projects.

Passionate about exploring the world, Corinne is an avid traveler who finds joy in experiencing new cultures and landscapes. She enjoys cooking, skiing, and any outdoor activities, but nothing compares to savoring a fresh cosmopolitan by the lake during summer!

Jing Yi KwokInternational Business Development Associate

Having always been eager about real estate investment and development, Jing Yi’s role is at the intersection of estates buy & sell and the ever-growing Chinese market.

Having obtained a degree in accounting from McGill University, Jing Yi currently leads Herbie’s international business development with a particular focus on the Asian markets, merging strategy, sales and marketing. Through her endeavours, she hopes to foster Canada-China bilateral trades and business relationships.

As an outdoor enthusiast, Jing Yi takes pleasure in running and hiking around the province. While she is always on the lookout for her next adventure, she equally enjoys the calm and serenity of her yoga practice.
