Lac à Jos-Bob is 1,118 acres of nature with a private lake & fishing cabins that create an authentic, hallowed fishing camp. It is one that is easily accessible from major airports: only one and a half hours to Pierre Elliott Trudeau International airport and 2 hours to Mirabel airport. Herbie assessed that his approach would credit the main appeal of the fishing camp. It was the lifestyle, that Lac à Jos-Bob promised that was both sporting and gastronomical, anchored in a natural setting. The lake is absolutely pristine and the depth of the lake is deep enough, inestimably, so that they were able to put arctic char in, which multiplied astronomically over the early COVID pandemic years. It is spring-fed, is the head lake measuring 2km in length, with 5km of shoreline.
Since arctic char is pretty rare fish in the area – where fisherman habitually pluck out trout and rainbow trout – the fishing camp turned into an artisanal dining room for potential buyers to sample the delicacy. With fish being reeled out every 20-30 seconds and chefs preparing the meal onsite with the property’s herbs, vegetables and chanterelles, and then slow-cooking it over fire, it was a feast to be remembered in the spirit of lake to table. Some clients caught so many fish that they could not induce their bounty into the helicopter they rode in on. The aquatic haul was then was packed in ice and delivered to them, in town, by ground transportation. Float planes including the Lake Buccaneer can also transport owners and their guests.
This unique property was sold and listed by Herbie in 2021 and the asset returned a sale that was above the initial asking price sale. The property was photographed by drone during summer and fall. Promotional brochures and a dedicated website illustrate the uniqueness of this lake. In addition, Lac a Jos-Bob was marketed through Sotheby’s International Realty and Herbie’s advertising channels, as well as local newspapers and international media.
